Lone Star Wind Orchestra - All the Good Things this Spring!

Posted on December 15, 2009 with 0 comments
As some of you know, I am a founder of the Lone Star Wind Orchestra. I share that distinct honor with two outstanding gentlemen, Barry Knezek and Robert Clark. The organization has come along way since April 2006, including producing world-class concert programs in world-class halls like the Eisemann Center in Richardson and the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, recording a commercial CD for Naxos Records, and performing at the Texas Bandmasters Association in 2008. During the past few years, I have served on the Board as the Artistic Administrator. Now, I am the Artistic Director of the organization and my friend & colleague Eugene Migliaro Corporon is the Principal Conductor and Music Director of the Lone Star Wind Orchestra.

We are in our fourth season and this spring the organization will present four exhilarating concerts from chamber music like Dvorak's Serenade for Winds, a Latino cultural concert with works like Turina's La Procession du Rocio to a remarkable program inspired by Angels featuring composer Frank Ticheli. Plus, the organization will unveil the newly-formed LSWO Youth Winds, a honor group featuring some of the best high school student musicians in the DFW area, led by their conductor, Dr. Bradley Kent.

Why am I telling you this? Well, if you're a band lover, you gotta check them out. A premier wind band in two world-class halls led by the cream-of-the-crop conductor. ...plus, I'm working on Lone Star Wind Orchestra stuff right now and I thought I'd boast for a minute. Well, back to work.
