Cool Beans in Little Mexico was commissioned by the Bussey Middle School Bands (Garland, TX), Kimberly Tucker, director. The work is in three sections and combines Mexican song with jazz elements. Mexican songs used are two traditional songs "The Parrot Song" and the "Mexican Hat Dance" as well as an original Tejano-inspired melody.
