The College Band Directors National Association announced Twilight in the Wilderness the winner of the 2003 CBDNA Young Band Composition Competition at the Midwest International Orchestra and Band Clinic in Chicago, Illinois.

The Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville Wind Symphony (Edwardsville, IL), under the direction of Dr. John Bell, recorded "March" from Winds of Enchantment and Animal Krackers for Volume 6 of the Distinguished Music for the Developing Band Series, which is available from Mark Records.

The Lambda Chapter of Phi Beta Mu announced Twilight in the Wilderness the winner of the 2004 Claude T. Smith Memorial Band Composition Contest. The composition contest is co-sponsored by the St. Louis Wind Symphony, the Midwest Winds in Kansas City, and the Southeast Missouri State University Bands.

The Rutgers University Wind Ensemble (New Brunswick, NJ), under the direction of Dr. William Berz, recorded Amber Terrace Dreams for Volume 5 of the Distinguished Music for the Developing Band Series, which is available from Mark Records.

Kimberly Kriston and I premiered Tear Drops of Heavenly Joy for flute and piano for the wedding of Kim's sister, Jenny and Dan Gilligan. This gift was composed for the unity candle portion of the ceremony.

The University of Texas Symphony Band (Austin, TX), under the direction of Dr. Robert Carnochan, co-premiered Twilight in the Wilderness. The work was part of a joint commission between the UT Symphony Band and the Hill Country Middle School Band.

The Houston Symphonic Band, under the direction of Robert McElroy, performed Americans Lost at the Texas Bandmasters Association Convention. I served as narrator, dedicating the reading of the poem in memoriam to my father and mother-in-law, Robert and Joan Griswold. The entire program highlighted some of the new additions to the Texas UIL Prescribed Music List (2003-2006). Americans Lost is listed as a grade 3 on the list and is published by Southern Music Company.

The DeSoto West Junior High Symphonic I Band (DeSoto, TX), under the direction of Kimberly Kriston, premiered Animal Krackers.

The Hill Country Middle School Band (Austin, TX), under the direction of Cheryl Floyd, co-premiered Twilight in the Wilderness. A preview, premiere performance was also given by the group on a joint concert with the Baylor Wind Ensemble on May 5, 2003 in Waco, Texas.

The DeSoto High School Wind Symphony (DeSoto, TX), under the direction of Harry D. Blake, premiered Amber Terrace Dreams.
